Relations With Other Faiths
The role of the Relations with Other Faiths Working Group is to promote knowledge, understanding and respect for the other living world faiths and their communities, particularly in the Australian context. The impetus for this is the recognition of our common humanity and a desire to live in peace and goodwill as neighbours in our communities and the world. In carrying out this mission, the Working Group provides information and resources which are of practical use in interfaith relationships, gatherings and dialogue, and to raise awareness of other faiths.

PEACE CARDS
You may be aware of the Warrandyte Uniting Church Peace Wall and Garden. Attractive greeting cards have now been produced of the panels on the wall, and these cards are for sale TODAY in the foyer following worship. Proceeds from the sales will be used to work for Peace.

Calling those willing and able to organise a group of people from the church to head out to Marysville for a morning or day of gardening!
Sue Hill, the Manager at the Marysville Residential Village would love to have a willing team of people help residents re-establish their gardens. It would give them a real boost.

“Iceland and beyond”
================
‘By popular request’ we plan to give an account of our adventures in Iceland and beyond through moving pictures and story
in the Upper Hall, on Saturday night, January 16th, 2010 starting promptly at 7.30pm
We will visit Iceland for a wedding, circumnavigate the island in six days, be in the Faeroe Islands for their National Day celebrations, sail to their majestic fiords, and experience Norway in a nutshell. Whether we get further into Scandinavia, Belgium and Britain is in the lap of the gods. The trolls may know! All welcome.
Nibbles, savories, coffee and cake will be served 'between countries' on a ‘bring and share’ basis.
If you would like to come, let us know so we can balance up who brings what.

We have been very fortunate to once again procure seats at the Heidelberg Theatre in Rosanna for a CHARITY PREVIEW performance of "disclosure" on WEDNESDAY 17 FEBRUARY @ 8PM.The synopsis of this play is below:
disclosure BY Helen Collins. Written by a local playwright and set in inner suburban Melbourne, this is an intriguing drama involving five seemingly unrelated women from different walks of life. As their personal histories unfold, we discover they connect in a fascinating underbelly of lies, deceit and murder. The question is not 'who did it?' but how and why it happened? This play contains adult themes.
So, please put this date in your 2010 diary NOW, and tickets will be available in January. The cost of $20 per person will include a light supper, and proceeds of the evening will be shared between Templestowe College Chaplaincy, and Royal Children's Hospital Music Therapy Auxiliary.
